Reproductive Health awareness month

As part of Reproductive Health awareness month activities, the Department of Health is embarking different educational and promotional activities on reproductive health issues such as contraceptives or birth control, maternal mortality, maternal and child health education, and family planning.

Speaking on SABC Morning Live show the Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi to kick start Reproductive Health awareness mont said sexual reproductive awareness month aims to raise awareness about the importance of contraception and the prevention of HIV/AIDS infection.

The Minister also advised urged people to access reproductive health services for free at public health facilities saying that new free flavoured condoms, while explaining how government was putting measures in place to prevent new HIV infections.

Reproductive health is regarded as an important part of many health systems of any country as it affects childhood, adolescence and adulthood development stages and eventually the socio - economic status of a country. /p>
