The 9th South African AIDS Conference kicks - off today at Durban ICC in KwaZulu - Natal province.
A four - day conference will focus on innovation in the area of HIV and theme is "Unprecedented Innovations and Technologies: HIV and change".
As a build up to the conference, the Department embarked on activities that included a launch of South Africa’s Human Rights Plan and a awareness - march in response to HIV, TB and gender-related violations at Gugu Dlamini Memorial Park at Ethekwini in central Durban.
The conference is multi-sectoral and will be attended by delegates from diverse backgrounds including scientists, medical practitioners and representatives from the public sector, NGO and faith-based sectors and the corporate sector.
