The Department of Health will join the world to commemorate World Diabetes Day on November 14.
The aim of the campaign is to create awareness and educate the public diabetes.
Statistics SA released reports in 2016 which showed that diabetes is the second most common cause of death in South Africa.
Reports also show that 3 in 5 people with diabetes in South Africa are undiagonised. Department of Health is encouraging people to practise healthy lifestyle by eating healthy food whether they have diabetes or not.
The Department of Health will embark in different activities such as health talks and community dialogues this month to educate and empower the public about diabetes.
