The Social Facilitation Plan for the project started on June 28, 2022, with the approval of the Social Facilitation Plan being signed and approved by the Limpopo Department of Health and the National Department of Health.
The project officially started in 2018 when National Treasury confirmed the project’s budget through their Budget for Infrastructure Model.
The Minister and the Premier of the province laid the foundation of the project on 18 July 2023.
The estimated project value is R5 billion.
